Ok so there is now 6 weeks to go until the Highland Fling, my new bike has finally arrived, however is yet to be built and I was hoping for some serious training going into the long weekend, however Sydney’s weather is currently not playing ball.
My mum has been over for the last 5 weeks so my training has been a bit hit and miss however, I have been sticking with my spin classes as well as getting in some rides to work and weekend rides, however not as much as I would like. Fortunatly because of the spin classes my fitness levels have not dropped at all and I am still feeling very strong on the road bike when climbing which is great news, however I do have concerns that a lack of riding on the MTB is gonna effect me, need to remedy that asap.
As mentioned my new MTB has finally arrived, I have purchased a Yeti ASR 5C for my enduro rides, first time I have owened a full sus bike and it should be perfect for both trail riding and endurance rides. I have pics of it in pieces and am going to build it up this long weekend on Monday. Pics attached below.
I have recently ordered some Infinit Nutrition to experiment with for my longer training rides to see how that goes with keeping me hydrated and fuelled up.
So hoping to get out tomorrow for a bunch ride, either with the guys I ride with or hook up with NSCC for their bunch ride tomorrow. Looking to join a club and have been told that NSCC are a great bunch of guys.
My plan for the remaining 6 weeks is to keep at the spin classes twice a week, as well as continue to ride into work as per normal, I know I need to be uping the ante on the MTB and once that gets built, I will be out there a bit more on that bike.
